How We Rank Servers

Two complementary scoring systems — a Quality Rating (0–5 stars) and a Ranking Score (0–1,000 points) — both recalculated daily from the Discord API.

Our goal is to surface servers that are well-established, properly configured, and officially recognised by Discord — not just the biggest servers, but the ones that have invested in building a quality community.

Quality Rating (0–5 Stars)

The star rating on every server listing is calculated across three dimensions.

Server Size (up to 2.5 stars)

Member count is the single biggest factor. We use a logarithmic scale — early growth is rewarded more than late growth. The benchmark for a perfect score is 500,000 members.

FeaturePoints
50 members0.7 ★
500 members1.2 ★
5,000 members1.6 ★
50,000 members2.1 ★
500,000+ members2.5 ★

Servers with fewer than 50 members receive proportional credit on a linear scale.

Server Configuration (up to 1.5 stars)

We reward servers that have invested in proper setup, moderation, and onboarding. A well-configured server typically scores 0.8–1.1 stars here.

Guild Onboarding0.20

Trust Badges (up to 1.0 star)

Official recognition from Discord is a strong quality signal. A server that is both verified and partnered with community enabled earns the full 1.0 star.

Ranking Score (0–1,000 Points)

The ranking score determines the sort order of servers on the site. It is calculated daily, shortly after quality ratings are updated. There are four components.

Member Count (up to ~500 pts)

The heaviest factor. Like the quality rating, it uses a logarithmic scale so that size matters but doesn't completely dominate.

FeaturePoints
100 members~100
1,000 members~150
10,000 members~200
100,000 members~250
1,000,000 members~300

Quality Rating Bonus (up to 150 pts)

A server's star rating is multiplied by 30 and added to the ranking score, rewarding quality-rated servers:

5.0 ★
150 pts
3.0 ★
90 pts
1.0 ★
30 pts

Server Configuration (up to 200 pts)

The same Discord features from the quality rating are scored again with different weights:

How to Improve Your Score

1

Grow your community

Member count is the largest factor in both scores. Focus on organic growth through quality content and engagement.

2

Enable Community features

Turn on Community, Auto Moderation, Onboarding, and Welcome Screen in your server settings.

3

Set up Server Guide & Verification

Member Verification Gate and Server Guide show you care about the new member experience.

4

Apply for Verified or Partner

Discord's official badges carry substantial weight in both scoring systems.

5

Enable Discoverable

Making your server discoverable through Discord's own directory signals quality.

Transparency & Updates

Our scoring methodology is reviewed periodically and may be adjusted to better reflect server quality as Discord adds new features. When we make changes, we update this page.

Scores are recalculated daily at 04:00 UTC (quality ratings) and 04:05 UTC (ranking scores). Changes to your server's configuration or member count will be reflected in the next daily update cycle.

If you believe your server's score doesn't reflect its quality, submit your server for review and our team will take a look.
